Taking Radical Responsibility for Your Life
I can’t tell you how many times I have heard people receive feedback on things others want them to change and respond by saying, “Oh, I have known that for years!” Shame on you! How is it that you can know of changes that would make you more effective and never make them?
Perhaps I shouldn’t be too harsh in my judgment since, I imagine, we are all prone to the same issue. I can think of a few areas in my life that were getting in my way of thriving and which I put up with far too long.
The challenge is to stop waiting and hoping that things will change for the better and to take radical responsibility to feed the life you have been given until you are thriving. So, what does that look like?
- Honoring your dreams and ambition by making both important enough to make radical changes in your life in order to fulfill them.
- Replacing habits that undermine your thriving with ones that bring you more to life.
- Creating a plan for change and growth that excites you.
- Disciplining yourself to follow your plan to the best of your ability.
Your life is your responsibility. You can neglect it if you wish or you can cherish, nourish, and protect it. That choice is up to you. Take a few minutes and consider how you might better care for yourself.
What are you willing to change?
